• This updated manual covers the numerous current traineeships, study scholarships, job opportunities abroad and language learning programmes available for the Galician youngsters
• Its goal is to serve as a practical tool for the youth’s professional career
Santiago, 1 October 2014.- Xunta de Galicia, through Fundación Galicia Europa, has recently published the 4th edition of its "Guide for Traineeships and Jobs in the EU and international organizations". It consists of a manual that, since its launch in 2008, intends to bring job, study and language opportunities to Galician youngsters in order to ease their first contact with the labour market and their first steps in their careers. This new version of the guide is already available at the Fundación’s website and a limited number of printed samples have been distributed at documentation centres, universities and different kinds of Galician entities. There are some samples also available at the Fundación’s offices. The guide is written in Galician, as it is aimed mainly at Galician youngsters.
This year’s updating process coincides with the beginning of the new European funding period until 2020, in which the EU is going to launch new initiatives and programmes especially aimed at youth, offering opportunities in three main dimensions: training, job creation and entrepreneurship. Besides, in order to ease the usage of this manual in its 4th edition, the layout and design were remodelled and the content restructured in four blocks: traineeship grants, study scholarships, job opportunities abroad and tools for language learning.
Thus, this new guide is the result of a compilation of traineeship opportunities at different Galician and Spanish public and private organizations, as well as at the European Institutions and several International Organizations. Moreover, as a key element for promoting the numerous ways of gaining international experience among youngsters and improve their employability, the guide includes a section on the different grants offered from public and private entities for study programmes at universities and training centres in Spain and abroad. As a complementary option, this manual goes through some language learning opportunities by means of immersion courses or standard lessons at learning centres in Galicia.

One of its main lines of action is offering training on EU affairs to the Galician society, being a very important part of it the annual call for training grants for university and vocational training graduates, included in this guide for traineeships and jobs.
